techSync is a workforce application published by ClearPathFlow LLC ("we", "us"). It is not a consumer app. It is provided to field technicians and office staff of contracting companies that have engaged ClearPathFlow, and is used only with an account issued by that company. There is no public sign-up.
This policy explains what the app collects, why, and who it is shared with.
Who controls the information
The contracting company that issues your account decides what work is recorded and keeps the resulting records. ClearPathFlow operates the app and its hosting on that company's behalf.
If you are a technician and want to know how your employer uses these records, ask your employer directly. If you want to know how the app itself handles information, this policy covers it, and you can contact us at the address at the end.
What the app collects
Account information. The email address you sign in with, your display name, your role (technician, supervisor, dispatcher, administrator), and an internal technician number assigned by your employer. Accounts are created by your employer, not by you.
Work order information. Job and work order numbers, service addresses, work zones, scheduled and completed dates, assignment and status history, and the identity of the person who performed or reviewed each step.
Photographs you capture. Photographs of the work site taken through the app, or selected from your device's photo library when you choose to attach one. Photographs may retain metadata written by your camera, such as the time the picture was taken; the app reads that timestamp so a photo is dated when it was shot rather than when it was uploaded.
Work details you enter. Measurements such as buried cable footage, cable type, bore type and length, and any comment you write for the office.
Technical information. App version and basic device information needed to operate and support the app, and standard server logs kept by our hosting providers, which include the network address your device connects from.
What the app does not collect
- No location tracking. The app does not request location permission and does not record where you or your device are. Addresses shown in the app come from the work order, not from your phone.
- No advertising and no analytics trackers. The app contains no advertising software and no third-party analytics or marketing SDKs.
- No access to your contacts, messages, call history, calendar, or microphone.
- No personal use of your photo library. The app can open your photo library only when you choose to attach a picture to a work order, and reads only the picture you select.
- We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.
Permissions the app asks for
- Camera — to take the job photographs a work order requires.
- Photos / media — to let you attach an existing picture of the job site, and to store photos you capture until they can be uploaded.
- Internet / network access — to sign in and to upload work.
Why the information is used
- To record completed field work and the photographs that evidence it.
- To let supervisors and dispatchers review, correct, approve or return that work.
- To deliver the completed work order and its photographs to the service provider the contracting company works for, which is what triggers payment for the job.
- To assign upcoming work and show each technician their own jobs.
- To operate, secure and support the app, including diagnosing faults.
Offline storage on your device
The app is built to work without a signal. Photographs and work details are stored on your device first and uploaded when a connection is available.
Anything not yet uploaded exists only on your device. Removing the app deletes it permanently and it cannot be recovered. Make sure your work has finished uploading before uninstalling.
How long it is kept
Work records and photographs are kept for as long as the contracting company needs them for its business and legal obligations, including payment, dispute resolution and audit. Account information is kept while the account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards. When your employer instructs us to delete records, we delete them.
How it is protected
Information travels over encrypted connections and is stored on access-controlled systems. The database enforces row-level rules so technicians see their own work and office staff see the review queues their role allows. Access by ClearPathFlow is limited to what is needed to operate and support the service.
No system is perfectly secure, and we do not claim otherwise.
Your choices
Your account and the records in it belong to your employer's business records, so requests to access, correct or delete them should go to your employer first. If you contact us directly, we will help where we are able to and will refer the request to your employer where the records are theirs to decide about.
You can withdraw camera or photo permission at any time in your device settings, but the app cannot complete a work order without the photographs it requires.
Children
techSync is a workplace tool for adults. It is not directed to children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be communicated through the contracting company.
